John had been fiddling with her card for the rest of the afternoon. He really thought about it - really thought about calling her and asking her out on a date. She couldn't have had a boyfriend, right? Otherwise she wouldn't have given him her number. But then maybe she just wanted to "hang out" with no romantic connotations...or maybe he was just over thinking it. It was so unlike John to over think things. He had, after all, been called a "hot head" by the late, great Peter Foley.

But then Bane and Batman had messed everyone up. "Fuck it," he said under his breath and dialed her number on his cell phone.

"Sure, that sounds good," she said.

"Alright." He sat there awkwardly for a moment. "I'll guess I'll see you then."

"Okay," she said as she unbuckled her seat belt and gathered her purse. "Thanks for drinks and the pie. And for calling."

This wasn't exactly what she expected, but it was nicer than spending another evening alone.

"You're welcome." He smiled a little.

She gave him a small smile back before getting out of the car and heading in to the hotel.

She gave him a slight wave as she walked away.

John made sure she got into the building safely before going back to his apartment.
