John had been fiddling with her card for the rest of the afternoon. He really thought about it - really thought about calling her and asking her out on a date. She couldn't have had a boyfriend, right? Otherwise she wouldn't have given him her number. But then maybe she just wanted to "hang out" with no romantic connotations...or maybe he was just over thinking it. It was so unlike John to over think things. He had, after all, been called a "hot head" by the late, great Peter Foley.

But then Bane and Batman had messed everyone up. "Fuck it," he said under his breath and dialed her number on his cell phone.

"I try not to be, I guess." He thanked the waitress.

"It's okay," she said as she grabbed some fries. "Just wondering.

"Although I'm also wondering what it takes to loosen you up."

"I'm loosened up." He rolled his shoulders back.

"Sorry, not buying it," she teased.

[gcpd]

He huffed out a laugh. "Sorry."

[inyourdreams]

"It's okay," she said. "You're still interesting and fun to talk to."

"Well that's good to know."

John ate his burger and fries.

She worked on her own fries before moving on to the pie.

"So when do you want the tour of Wanye Manor?" He asked.

[inyourdreams]

"Well, I have to do some work tomorrow," she said. "But I'm free the following day. If that works for you."

He nodded. "That's fine. I can pick you up from your hotel."

[inyourdreams]

"Okay," she said. "I'm in the Crown Plaza up on 53rd."

[gcpd]

He nodded again and wiped his mouth with his napkin.

She pushed the slice of pie towards him.

He smiled, took a forkful and ate it.

"It's really good," she said as she took her own big fork full.

[gcpd]

"I know."

[inyourdreams]

She smiled and ate another bite.

[gcpd]

John wiped his mouth with his napkin just as the waitress came over with their bill.

She smiled at the waitress before taking a last bite of her pie.

John took out his wallet and laid some money on the table to cover their food and tip.

"Do you want to finish it?" she asked, indicating to the rest of the pie in between them. Most of the ice cream had melted around it.

"Waste not, want not." He picked up his fork again and finished the pie.

She smiled as she watched him.

"You're an interesting guy, John," she said.

[gcpd]

"Yeah? Why's that?"
