John drove down to the cave and got suited up. The new one Fox had created for him was perfect. It was a snug fit but he was still able to move around.

The reason why John was suiting up tonight was because he'd heard a rumor about something going down in the city, so he thought he'd check it out. It could be nothing, but he wanted to be on the safe side. It was something about dreamshare. John couldn't find much other than it was a military training program but got shut down after losing its funding.

He leaned down and kissed her, lingering for a moment before walking out.

She watched him go before reaching for the clicker and settling in for a boring day of daytime TV.

With the lack of sleep and the adrenaline rush last night, John could barely keep his eyes open. The job was easy enough. He sat behind a desk and checked people in.

She got a text on her alternate cell phone from the Forger. The team made bail and were on the run. The Extractor was able to get the information to their employer so everyone was square. No one gave her up to the police, saying that the women who drugged the Mark was a working girl they paid to do it. No one else but the Batman knew differently.

She breathed a sigh of relief that she wouldn't have to skip town. Especially since she could barely walk.

At around seven in the evening, he finally made it back to the hotel suite.

By then, Ari was bored and restless. She'd sat herself at the desk with her ankle propped up, working on the library plans until she couldn't see. She'd hopped around the suite, tidying everything up. She'd had the hotel bring her some crutches and ordered Chinese food. By 7pm she was back on the couch and had resorted to organizing her iTunes.

When she heard the door open, she perked up.

"Hey baby," she said with a smile when he came in, looking tired.

"Hey." He smiled tiredly. He knew hed have to get some sleep at the cave. John went over and kissed her. "I'm gonna sleep."

"Okay," she said, frowning a bit. She knew he had to sleep, but she'd been cooped up all day and wasn't dealing with it well. "Can I join you?"

She figured the only time they were going to get to spend together was sleeping, so she'd take what she could.

"Sure," he said with a yawn. "Hey, you got crutches," he said, looking over at her.

"Yeah, the hotel tracked some down for me," she said. "But I've only been using one in here since I don't exactly have a lot of ground to cover."

She pushed herself into a standing position and then reached for her crutch.

John went over to see if he could help her.

She used the crutch and managed to maneuver herself from around the coffee table without falling over or banging her ankle.

"Wanna put your arm around me?" He asked as he looked over at her in concern.

[inyourdreams]

"Wanna just carry me?" she suggested with a smile. She liked to be independent, but she'd been hopping around all day and it was wearing on her. Plus, deep down she liked to be taken care of every now and then.

He smiled and then lifted her up in his arms, bridal style. "Better?"

"Yeah," she said and nuzzled into his neck, breathing in his scent.

John walked into the bedroom and set her down gently on the bed before he started getting undressed.

She'd just put on yoga pants and a t-shirt that days, so she climbed under the covers, putting her bad ankle on the outside of the bed, so he wouldn't have to worry about hitting it by accident.

He would definitely need to take a nap at the cave, he thought as he got into bed.

"You look tired," she said as she turned toward him.

[gcpd]

"I am tired," he murmured, his eyes already closed.

She sighed and smoothed her hand over his forehead, brushing her fingers through his hair soothingly.

"Sorry I'm such a lousy boyfriend," he muttered, already falling asleep.

[inyourdreams]

"You're not," she said, leaning in to press a kiss to his forehead.

[gcpd]

A moment later, he started snoring lightly.
