John drove down to the cave and got suited up. The new one Fox had created for him was perfect. It was a snug fit but he was still able to move around.

The reason why John was suiting up tonight was because he'd heard a rumor about something going down in the city, so he thought he'd check it out. It could be nothing, but he wanted to be on the safe side. It was something about dreamshare. John couldn't find much other than it was a military training program but got shut down after losing its funding.

She threaded her fingers through his hair as he came down, whispering endearments in his ear.

Once he caught his breath, he lifted his head up to kiss her.

She smiled against his lips.

"I'll be right back." He kissed her lips quickly before getting up and going to the bathroom.

"Okay," she said before she curled up back under the covers to wait.

He came back out after cleaning himself up and disposing of the condom and got into bed with her.

She smiled at him.

"I needed that," she said. It took away some of the stress she was feeling about last night's debacle. At least for now.

"Me too," he admitted, snuggling close.

"I could tell," she said as she pressed a kiss to his chest. "Hey, how'd you get this?"

There was a bruise to his upper chest that she hadn't noticed earlier.

He froze. He'd gotten it the night before when he stumbled upon the extraction. "I bumped into someone in the warehouse. I wasn't watching where I was going."

She raised an eyebrow.

"It looks more like someone hit you," she said, not really buying his explanation.

"I'm fine," he insisted as he pulled the covers up.

"I know you're fine," she said with a slight frown. "I'm just not sure why you're lying to me about it."

"I'm not lying. I walked into someone. That's all."

She looked at him for a moment before shrugging.

"Fine, whatever," she said before she settled down in bed, closing her eyes.

He sighed as he wrapped an arm around her.

"Night," she mumbled.

"Goodnight." He dropped a kiss to her forehead before closing his eyes.
