It was a few days since the night he got beat up. The Batman was all over the news and it was the hot topic. Had he really returned? Hadn't he died? Those were the questions people were asking, but they obviously weren't going to get any answers. John arrived at her hotel just as he said he would. After parking in the underground parking lot, he took the elevator to the lobby and then another elevator to her floor. He was still pretty bruised up along with his cracked rib but his face was getting better.

When he got to her floor and walked down the hall, he knocked on her door.

"Both?" She laughed. "Well, okay... Here, I'll split it up so we both get some of each." She pulled out cartons and started switching food around.

"Good idea."

She offered him a carton and a pair of chopsticks.

"I called your building manager yesterday, I'll be looking at an apartment tomorrow afternoon," she said.

"Great," he said as he took the carton and chopsticks.

[chesstotem]

"So I take it you're not sick of me, yet," she teased.

[gcpd]

"Of course not," he said with a grin.

[chesstotem]

"Hey, there are some people out there who can't stand the sight of me," she pointed out with a laugh.

"I find that hard to believe."

[chesstotem]

She snorted around a bite of fried rice. "Sure."

[gcpd]

"What? You're fun, you're nice to look at..."

[chesstotem]

"You're sweet," she said with a smile. "A very sweet man."

[gcpd]

"Thank you." he leaned over and kissed her cheek.

[chesstotem]

She shrugged. "It's just true. You've been showing me a good time, after all..."

[gcpd]

He shrugged. "It's nothing really."

[chesstotem]

"You could be doing anything you want, and you're choosing to spend time with me. Hm, I feel like if we keep going like this, the conversation is going to start going around in circles..."

[gcpd]

"In cirles?" He huffed out a laugh.

[chesstotem]

"Mm-hm. Where I keep protesting that it's really nice of you to give me the time of day, then you say it's not a problem because you like me, and I keep feeling flattered because you could be doing anything but you're spending time with me..."

[gcpd]

He laughed again. "Alright, alright. How do we get out of this cirle then?"

[chesstotem]

"Well, we could finish eating, for one thing," she teased.

[gcpd]

"We could do that," he said with a nod.

[chesstotem]

She laughed a little. "More water?"

[gcpd]

"Sure, thanks."

[chesstotem]

She went to refill his glass. "We can hang around here, watch a movie or something. Oh, you can look at my initial draw-up of the skyboxes if you want."

[gcpd]

"Yeah, I'd like that."

[chesstotem]

She finished up what she wanted from her carton, and went to put it in the fridge - she practically lived off leftover takeout the past couple of weeks, except when John had cooked for her. "I'll go grab the stuff. Take your time."
